FAQ

  • Will my JVC audio equipment designed for use in the U.S. work overseas?

The Home Audio equipment that JVC Americas Corporation markets in the United States is specifically designed to be used solely in the United States. Most overseas countries use different voltages and cycles than the United States. The standard voltage and cycles used in the United States are 110 Volts at 60 Hz. Many other countries use 220-240 volts at 50 Hz. While a voltage adapter can be employed to lower the voltage to 110 volts, there is nothing to convert the foreign cycles from 50 Hz to 60 Hz. This will cause the unit's power supply to work harder and operate at a higher temperature than it was designed for. This could eventually lead to a decreased life span of the equipment. JVC Americas Corporation does not recommend using the unit under the above conditions any such use would void the unit's original warranty.

  • The volume when I watch a DVD is different than the volume when watching my TV, why?

Some cable/satellite boxes and TV’s have a setting for fixed or variable audio output. A variable output setting will affect the volume through your Home Theater System. Check the user manual for your cable/satellite boxes or TV and look for audio output setting.

  • I cannot get Surround Sound from my analog input?

Surround sound from an analog input requires a stereo source. A VCR cannot transmit stereo via channel 3 or 4 to a Television. It can only transmit stereo through the left and right audio outputs of the VCR. You have the option of connecting the audio/video outputs from your VCR directly to your receiver. You can also connect the audio/video outputs from your VCR to the audio/video inputs on your Television. Be sure to select the Video input on your television the hear and see this type of connection. You will then need to connect the audio/video output from the television to the receiver.

  • How do you hook up a Cable Box/Satellite Box so the sound comes through the JVC unit?

You can connect the "Box" video and audio to your TV, and then connect the "Audio Out" from the TV to the "Audio In" on the JVC. Or, you can connect either the analog audio or digital audio directly from the "Box" to the corresponding "Audio In" or "Digital In" on the JVC unit.
